Shadow mask material for a color picture tube excellent in tensile strength and high-temperature creep strength, a shadow mask and a color picture tube incorporating it, wherein the shadow mask material for a color picture tube consists of low carbon steel containing 0.001 to 0.4 wt.% of P and, as required, additionally, 0.0005 to 0.1 wt.% of C and 0.05 to 0.5 wt.% of Mn. The color picture tube is characterized in that a shadow mask is mounted to a frame with a vertical tension given to the shadow mask. The color picture tube is characterized by being mounted to a frame with vertical and lateral tensions given thereto. |
