PURPOSE: A motor controller is provided to improve equality of a factor in an ink jet printer by controlling a real location of a motor. CONSTITUTION: A photo sensor(3) senses a location of a motor(10) by means of a light. A filter(4) filters an output signal of the photo sensor(3). A transition interval counter(21) counts a transition interval of a sensor signal filtered by the filter(4). A divider(22) divides a value counted by the transition interval counter(21) by a predetermined value. A reference pulse generator(23) generates a pulse corresponding to a period of a pulse generated by the divider(22). A current location counter(26) calculates a current location of the motor(10). A location pre-scaler(24) receives an output pulse of the reference pulse generator(23) and determines a counting resolution unit of the current location counter(26).
