The motorized sliding door for a road vehicle comprises a frame (2) in which is a door opening (21), a door (1) and a guide (3) for conducting the door along a predetermined track between a wholly closed and a wholly open position. A drive is provided for motorized movement of the door and consists of a motor, a coupling mechanism, a belt wheel driven by the motor, a drive belt (4) and a drive component (13) connecting the drive belt with the door. Only tractive force can be transmitted via the drive belt to the drive component and their connection is such that the friction resistance produced by the drive belt movement is held at a low level. |
