Brackets(8a,8b) which are component parts of a rigid connection between the towing beam(14) and longitudinal supports of the trailer are equipped with relatively parallel vertically extending connecting faces(17) which preferably have a pattern of holes. The towing beam has corresponding connecting faces(16) along its side surfaces(15). Intermediate plates may be fitted between the connecting faces of the brackets and connecting faces of the towing beam.
