PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an exhaust passage on the side plate using honeycomb material as reinforcement. SOLUTION: A side plate 33 in an elevator cage is made into a structure to sandwich a honeycomb material 33h between a front surface plate 33e and a back plate 33f. The honeycomb material is arranged inside by a fixed length from both right and left edges and upper and lower edges of the front surface plate and the back plate, respectively, to use the opening as an exhaust passage. Thereby, a lightweight and high rigid cage can be made. The soundproofing effect of the cage is enhanced, and the ventilation in the cage is performed efficiently through the exhaust passage formed inside the side plate, so that comfort in the cage can be improved greatly.
