PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute optimal processing accordance with a power source condition by simultaneously permitting the supply of power to a signal processing means and a display means when the kind of a detected power source is a first kind and suppressing the supply of power to the display means at the time of a second kind. SOLUTION: A power source control means 13 simultaneously permits power supply for the signal processing means 11 and the display means 17 when the kind of the power source detected by a power source kind detecting means 19 is the first kind (external power source), but permits power supply to the means 11 and suppresses power supply to a display preparing means when the kind of the power source detected by the means 19 is the second kind (internal power source) 12. Then, after a recording means 10 completes recoding of picture data to a recording medium 9, power supply to the means 11 is suppressed and power supply to the means 17 is permitted. Time for photographing at the time of using a power source of large suppliable power is reduced like this to prevent the reduction of the number of photographable sheets.
