The invention relates to a gas analyser for medical diagnostics. Characteristic, gaseous substances and released from solid, liquid or gaseous egesta or from cultures of pathogenic organisms or parasites in the event of a disease. The gas analyser converts said substances or changes in the gas composition into signal patterns, whereby said changes correlate with the disease. The gas analyser compares said signal patterns to characteristic signal patterns of gaseous substances which emanate during the occurrence of known diseases, whereby said signal patterns were previously stored in a data base. The gas analyser is characterised in that it is provided with a sensor array that consists of one or several gas sensors. At least one of said sensors is a specific detector for a suctioned gas that is used for adjusting a constant concentration in a sensor chamber. The gas analyser is provided with an additional gas sensor or an additional sensor array that consists of several sensors, whereby at least one sensor is a specific or non-specific detector for a characteristic gaseous substance which is linked to a disease. The gas analyser contains a diluting unit by means of which a certain concentration of the components contained in the gas volume can be adjusted. |
