PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly apply reception processing to a plurality of kinds of digital broadcast signals whose transmission parameters differ from each other. SOLUTION: A reception parameter used to receive a channel whose transmission is confirmed is entered as a default value (step S1). A channel is selected with this reception parameter (step S2). An NIT is separated and extracted from a transport stream relating to the selected channel and the NIT is stored in a nonvolatile memory (step S3). When a change of channel is instructed, a reception parameter used to receive a new channel is confirmed by referencing the NIT stored in the nonvolatile memory (step S6). Whether or not the revision of the reception parameter is furthermore required is discriminated (step S7), and when the revision is required, the processing proceeds to the step S8 and the setting relating to control of a front end section 2 is changed.
