PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrostatic latent image developing carrier having excellent electrification stability and spent resistance by incorporating a vinyl polymer having a carbosiloxane dendrimer structure in the side chain into at least the surface layer. SOLUTION: At least the surface layer of this electrostatic latent image developing carrier contains a vinyl polymer having a carbosiloxane dendrimer structure in the side chain. The electrostatic latent image developing carrier consists of the vinyl polymer having a carbosiloxane dendrimer structure in the side chain and electrostatic latent image developing carrier core particles, and the electrostatic latent image developing carrier core particles are coated with the vinyl polymer. In this method, the vinyl polymer having a carbosiloxane dendrimer structure in the side chain acts as a coating resin of the carrier core particles. As for the carbosiloxane dendrimer used, a highly branched siloxane-silalkylene copolymer or the like is used.
