PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image without a dead angle in the vicinity of a vehicle while minimizing the effect given onto the vehicle design. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle image pickup device 1 acquiring external information is fitted to a vehicle in an attitude where the corners of its own vehicle are included in the photographing range and arranged with inevitable projection from the outside of the vehicle body in order to avoid a dead angle in the vicinity of the vehicle, and is fitted to the upper part of a lamp cover 92c covering a lamp house 92a provided to the corner of the vehicle so as to minimize projection from the original vehicle body.
