摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a fuel property without error when an external load is applied by switching a reference value of engine rotating speed into a lower value when the external load is applied. SOLUTION: It is judged whether a shift position of a shift lever for an automatic transmission is in a neutral (N) range or not (S10). As a result, in the case where the shift position is the N-range, a prescribed speed ENEDWNN is set to a reference rotating speed enedown (S12). In the case where the shift position is a drive(D) range, or a reverse(R) range, a prescribed speed ENEDWND is set (S14). When the prescribed speed ENEDWNN is a reference value for detecting fuel property when the shift position is the N-range and an external load is not applied, and the prescribed speed ENEDWND is a reference value for detecting fuel property when the shift position is the D-range or the R-range and the external load is applied, and there is a relation of ENEDWNN > ENEDWND. After the prescribed value is set, it is judged whether or not engine rotating speed on the basis of an output signal of a crank angle sensor is a reference rotating speed and less (S16). In the case of YES, combustion stabilizing control processing is carried out serving the fuel property as heavy fuel (S18).
