PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a plate-making unit and lighten its weight by effecting the reading operation of a manuscript and writing operation to a stencil paper by the same conveyer means. SOLUTION: The unit works to obtain reading data by conducting the reading operation of a manuscript 8 by a reading means 2 while conveying the manuscript 8, and give plate-making operation with respect to a stencil paper 9 in terms of writing data by a plate-making means 3 while conveying the stencil paper 9. In this case, the reading means 2 and the plate-making means 3 are juxtaposed on one conveying roller 1 in order that each conveyance of the manuscript 8 and the stencil manuscript 9 is simultaneously carried out by one conveyer roller 1 relative to the reading means 2 and plate-making means 3.
