PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate correcting processing of erroneous recognition by providing a medium information display means for displaying printing information of a medium, a carrying means for carrying a taken-in medium, a control means, etc., for controlling the respective means so as to compare-confirm information on the medium and display information after its reading processing. SOLUTION: Information on the medium 8 is read by a detector 10 and the medium information is transmitted to a high-order processing part 16 from a read processing part 14 through a control part 15. Subsequently, a switching board 11 is switched to an upper carrying path with an instruction from the part 15 and when the medium 8 reaches a sensor 17, a motor is stopped to stop the medium 8 on the rear side of a display 6. In this state, a recognizing result on the medium 8 is displayed on the display 6 from the part 16 via the part 15. Then, when correction of the recognizing result is instructed from the part 16, an operator corrects it from an operating-type display. In addition, the correcting result is reflected to the display 6 to allow the operator to easily compare and visually recognize the correcting result.
