PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white balance device with which white balance is not defective even in a medium luminance part in a dynamic magnification camera. SOLUTION: In the white balance device, a 1st photometry means 10 measures a color difference level of a long time exposure signal (long) and a shot time exposure signal (short), a color difference gain calculation means 12 calculates an adjustment gain on the basis of the measurement result, a gain adjustment means 11 adjusts a color difference gain of the short time exposure signal to equalize color difference levels of the two signals. Then a synthesis means 13 synthesizes them to magnify a dynamic range to adjust the white balance with respect to the synthesis signal. Thus, white balance processing without a sense of incongruity is attained even for a medium luminance part.
