DOWNSHIFT CONTROL METHOD/SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE: A downshift control method/system for an automatic transmission is provided to automatically review downshift of a desirable pattern and to give the command corresponding to the downshift. CONSTITUTION: A downshift control method/system for an automatic transmission contains the following processes: a process to sense a condition of a downshift from a current gear ratio; a process to review a necessity and a possibility of in order a skip upshift and a single upshift; a process to give a command of a downshift suitable under a current driving condition; where if the downshift is necessary (ES < ESD/S), the skip downshift (GRTARGET = GR - N, N>1) and the single downshift (GRTARGET = GR - 1) are in order reviewed.
