PURPOSE: A component handling apparatus is provided which can reduce the fabrication cost and also has a simple configuration and can read or enter a discrimination data comprised in each of a supply stoker and/or accommodation stoker. CONSTITUTION: A component handling apparatus has a component accommodation portion(200) where a number of supply stokers and/or accommodation stokers are installed. The apparatus also has an IC card reader(260) which can read and/or enter discrimination data of an IC card(270) comprised in each of the supply stoker and/or accommodation stoker, and a moving apparatus(205) moving the IC card reader in the component accommodation portion. The moving apparatus is a tray transfer arm.
