According to the invention, it is possible to produce solid particles from a liquid medium in a rational manner, whereby said liquid medium is formed as a coherent liquid jet and divided into defined sections (9') with the aid of a separating device that is continuously moved in one direction on a separatin g plane (8). This is achieved with minimal separation and spraying losses by dividing the liquid jet (9) in such a way that several liquid jets (9) are provided and a common separating device (5) is arranged thereunder, whereby the liquid jets (9) are inclined in relation to the direction of movement of the separating device (5) in such a way that each liquid jet (9) forms an acute angle (.beta.) with the direction of movement of said separating devic e (5).
