A device for shaping a grid-like, radially deformable pipe section by means of a tongs-like tool has a shaping body (12) which can be positioned between clamping jaws (92, 94) of the tool (10). The shaping body (12) is approximately tubular and has an axial inner passage (16) with a constant circular diameter. The walls of the shaping body (12) which radially enclose said inner passage (16) are sinuous in the circumferential direction, allowing the walls to be radially deformed and the inner passage (16) to be radially narrowed while maintaining a reduced circular diameter. |
