The arrangement has transmitter unit in each of at least two terminals (A,B) for transmitting encoded information for the complex service characteristic via an information element which is transparently passed across the digital network (N,P) and a receiver unit for receiving and evaluating the information element, whereby a corresponding service characteristic is reproduced in a copying unit. The digital network is an ISDN channel with D-channel signalling at level 3.
