The catalyser temperature estimation method uses a temperature model for calculation of the catalyst temperature, in dependence on the temperature of the exhaust gas received from the engine (10) at the entry to the catalyser (14), measured via a temperature sensor (16), or calculated via a further temperature model at discrete time intervals.
