The support element has at least one strip-type long-length spring-elastic metal support rail(38) to hold the wiper strip and upon its upper side facing away from the windscreen there is a coupling element(46) made of an elastic plastic material provided with a transverse bore. The rails are installed in longitudinal slots(36) which are open on the edge facing the longitudinal sides of the wiper strip and over at least one longitudinal section protrude from the slots by an edge strip(44), and the coupling element is retained on these two edge strips.
