A wire connecting unit for an electrical connector includes a printed circuit board (16) and four pairs of terminals (18-32). The printed circuit board (16) has nose (44) and termination (46) areas, and a wire receiving passageway (106) extending along an axis (108) in the termination area (46). Each insulation displacement contact portion (72) is adjacent the wire receiving passageway (106) and extends in a plane oriented at an acute angle to the passageway axis (108). The unit may be mounted in a body having upstanding insulating towers round the angled insulation displacement contacts.
