摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable and clear color display by controlling the drive method of a reflection type display means based on a state of irradiation beam detected with a detection means. SOLUTION: The detection means 303 incorporating color filters 301 and photodiodes 302 of respective R, G, B is provided on a peripheral part of a display device. Respective beam intensity of R, G, B are detected by the detection means 303, and are converted into voltage to be sent to a control means 304. In the control means 304, first of all, they are sent to a white balance circuit 307 consisting of a selection part 305 and a gain decision part 306. When respective outputs of R, G, B are defined as Sr, Sg, Sb, in the white balance circuit 307, the selection part 305 compares these outputs to select the smallest one. The gain decision part 306 decides a gain, and in an amplifier 308, RGB signals Dr, Dg, Db used for a display are gain multiplied. Then, theγcorrection 309 is performed to the output of the amplifier 308, and the output is sent to the display means 310 as a display voltage to be displayed on a panel 311.
