PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the copy time of a memory and to complete copy in a short time even when a processing load on a CPU is present by controlling so that the other memory of a duplex memory is changed over to write mode designation and data read from one memory are written in the other memory as they are. SOLUTION: A high speed memory copy circuit 10 is inserted between a CPU 2 and duplex memories 1a and 1b. When the CPU 2 designates a read mode for the memory 1a, a read/write mode switching circuit 11a controls the memory 1a under read mode designation as it is, and a read/write mode switch means 11b controls the memory 1b by switching the read mode designation from the CPU 2 to write mode designation. Thus, data read from the memory 1a are written in the memory 1b as they are without through the CPU 2. Therefore, the data of the memory 1a can be coped to the memory 1b at high speed.
