PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate unwanted operations to reduce power consumption by stopping the output of an output power supply when a timer which counts time from the start of a converting operation of a power converter has counted time for a specified period of time. SOLUTION: A timer 10 is controlled for its operation by a timer on/off switch 12. When the timer on/off switch 12 is turned on, the timer 10 starts counting and a latch state of a latch circuit 11 is reset to a low level. When the timer 10 finishes timing for a specified period of time, the output of the timer comes to a high level. Then, an output control signal of a photo coupler 8 becomes high level. After the passage of a set insensitive time, the latch circuit 11 latches the high level state and a switching control signal supplied from a control circuit 9 to a switching section 3 is fixed at a low level. Therefore, the output of DC voltage from a rectifier circuit 5 is cut off. Due to this structure, there is no unwanted operations of circuits and the power consumption can be reduced.
