PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting the color balance of a color picture. SOLUTION: A picture is captured, each channel of the picture is converted into a power low space (S1), the converted channel is stored, a channel converted by at least one filter is filtered spatially so as to produce at least one filtered picture (S2), the standard deviation of each filtered and converted channel is calculated (S3a), a reference standard deviation is decided (S31), the ratio between the reference standard deviation and the standard deviation of each filtered and converted channel is formed and the ratio is multiplied with each stored and converted channel as a multiple gain coefficient to provide a color correction picture.
