PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability and to attain a long life, by enhancing adhesion of silicone resin to a metal sheet by applying a process to form a recessed stripe or a projecting stripe in advance on the surface of the metal sheet to form an elastic packing material, and forming the elastic packing material by applying injection molding to the silicone resin to cover the recessed stripe or the projecting stripe. SOLUTION: A fine irregular pattern for a fuel gas passage is provided in the center part of the surface of a metal sheet 1 with a thickness of 1.0-2.0 mm, and a process to form a slender groove-shaped recessed stripe 11 having a depth of about 0.5 mm and a width of as much as 0.4-1.0 mm is applied to the inside and the outside of its peripheral rim part. An elastic packing material 2 is formed on the peripheral rim part of the metal sheet 1 by forcing liquid silicone resin with designated viscosity in the recessed stripe 11 so as to cover the recessed stripe and applying injection molding to it. The thickness T of the silicone resin layer after the injection molding is set within a range of 0.1-1.0 mm, and its hardness is set for 40-70 by JIS K6301 spring hardness test type A. Thereby, workability of this separator can be improved at the time of injection molding, its durability gets excellent and it can be used for a long time. |
