PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm required information by a 2nd display device even when a foldable structure is closed by providing a 1st display device placed on a face of a 1st case opposed to a 2nd case in a state that the foldable structure is closed and a 2nd display device placed on a face other than an upper end face of the 1st case to a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: The 1st case 1a and the 2nd case 1b are structured so that they are folded with a hinge 2. When the 1st case 1a and the 2nd case 1b are folded around the hinge 2, a display device 8 is not seen by a user and only a display device 11 can be seen by the user. Furthermore, in this folded state, a magnet 13 acts on a reed switch 12, as a result, a selection circuit 10 is operated to select power and character data from a display device driver 9 so that the power and the character data are fed only to the display device 11. Thus, even in the folded state of the portable telephone set, important information such as a electric field strength and a battery voltage or the like in an incoming waiting state is confirmed by seeing the display of the display device 11.
