PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody a process for producing a seal for decoration which is capable of easily producing the seal for decoration printed with the users' desired decorative designs by using inexpensive equipment. SOLUTION: This process is a process of producing paper 4 for the seal consisting of a synthetic resin sheet 4a subjected to a surface roughening treatment on its surface as surface paper and the seal for decoration for portable telephones manufactured by using a personal computer. The paper 4 for the seal previously formed with lancings meeting the surface shape of the portable telephones is loaded to an ink jet type printer (3) and desired image data is read out of the decorative design data previously stored in the storage device of the personal computer. The image data of the decorative designs is sent to the ink jet type printer (3) and the ink jet type printer (3) is operated, by which the surface of the synthetic resin sheet 4a of the paper surface for the seal is printed with the decorative designs.
