PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor-replaceable ultrasonic system vortex flowmeter by preventing generation of a standing wave with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In this vortex flowmeter, a vortex generating body 2 generating a Karman vortex is installed in a pipe 1 in which fluid flows, an ultrasonic wave transmitter 3 and an ultrasonic wave receiver 4 are installed facing each other via a generation region A of the Karman vortex, a continuous ultrasonic wave is transmitted form the transmitter 3, phase modulation components of the ultrasonic wave which are caused by generation of the Karman vortex are obtained by the receiver 4, and the flow rate of fluid is measured. The transmitter 3 and the receiver 4 are arranged on the external surface of the pipe 1, setting a specific distance D in the flow direction of the fluid. By this simple constitution, interference with a reflected wave from the counter face is excluded, and generation of a standing wave is prevented. A transducer can be installed on the external wall surface of the pipe, and working of the internal wall surface of the pipe is not necessary, so that a sensor-replaceable ultrasonic system vortex flowmeter can be obtained.
