PURPOSE:To furnish a photovoltaic device of which the photoelectric conversion efficiency is improved. CONSTITUTION:A surface protecting layer 101 is provided in lamination on the light incidence side and at least one light-scattering layer 102 having a refractive index different from the one of the surface protecting layer and having an indented structure is formed in the surface protecting layer 101. When a light cast on a photovoltaic device is scattered by the light-scattering layer 102, according to this constitution, an optical path in a semiconductor layer 104 is prolonged substantially, a short-circuit current of the photovoltaic device is improved and the photoelectric conversion efficiency is improved. Since absorption of the light by the semiconductor layer increases, besides, the semiconductor layer can be made thin, optical deterioration of the photovoltaic device can be suppressed and the cost of manufacture can be reduced. |
