A constant velocity joint has: plate metal open ring or segmented outer part 13 formed by punching, stamping, bending and drawing, which comprises first 15 and second 17 outer oppositely extending grooves; deep drawn receiving part 19, having a cylindrical bore interrupted by grooves 22 receiving the outer part outer face formed by the grooves 15,17; balls 28; cage 11 and; grooved inner part 3. Centring faces (37 Fig. 5) near outer part ends engage the receiving part bore and stops 20, 21 retain the outer part. The cage is guided in the outer part by part spherical surfaces 34,35 and itself comprises part spherical outer surface 29 and part spherical inner surface (31 Fig. 6) about centre 33, flaked axially by cylindrical surfaces (32). Inner part 3 outer face comprises central cylindrical portion 10a flanked axially by part spherical surfaces 10b about centre 33.
