摘要 PURPOSE: A reflective type display apparatus for increasing a contrast ratio is provided to increase a contrast ratio by making a transmission rate almost 0 percentage. CONSTITUTION: A reflective type display apparatus for increasing a contrast ratio includes a PBS(Polarizing Beam Splitter)(21), a FLC(Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal) display device(24), and a compensator(23). The PBS makes a transmission a polarized light of P type and reflects a polarized light of S type. The FLC display device polarizes and reflects an incident light. A molecular axis of each pixel of the FLC display device is arranged to plus or minus alpha angle for a horizontal axis as a standard axis according to an applied driving voltage. The compensator polarizes the light incident from the PBS and makes a transmission for the FLC display device, polarizes the light reflected from the FLC display device and makes a transmission for the PBS, and, simultaneously, arranges a molecular axis of each pixel to one angle among plus or minus alpha angles for a vertical axis as a standard axis according to an applied driving voltage.
