A device is claimed for improving the insertion and replacement of a casting tube of a metal casting vessel in which a stopper plate and/or replaceable casting tube inserted in a moving plate is juxtaposed with a common transverse edge against a moving plate carrying a replacement casting tube or against a stopper plate remote from the casting hole. The moving plates are mounted to slide on guide rails able to transmit an upward thrust and guide the displacement of the plates and the casting tubes in a parallel manner under the action of pneumatic jacks from a charging position to a service position in the axis (L,L') of the casting hole and from this service position to a discharge position to allow the exchange of the tubes to be achieved without raising the vessel. The device incorporates a tripper device that controls a lever operating between a lower charging position and a raised service position in a manner that imparts a rocking movement to the moving plate around a front horizontal nose of the moving plate engaged in the sealing zone around the casting hole formed by a reference plate (6).
