PURPOSE: A fuel pump operating pressure system is provided to form high pressure by a fuel pump in starting a direct injection engine, and to inject fuel stably by driving the fuel pump with an additional motor before starting. CONSTITUTION: A pump shaft is fixed and installed in a hub of a pump pulley rotated and contacted to a driving pulley(2). A one-way clutch(6) is mounted in an inner periphery of the pump pulley, and driven by a step motor(5). The step motor is operated with operating a starting switch. The full supply pressure of fuel required in starting a driving pump(4) is formed in advance by installing the step motor and the one-way clutch. An operating pressure apparatus of the fuel pump starts the driving pump stably, and lengthens a life span of an injector.
