PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for wheel tread which is free from the restriction of space for mounting and very economic, has a smaller number of part items, simple structure and excellent machinability, and can shorten its cylinder, prevent partial abrasion by keeping an abrasive piece at a neutral position and be attached with ease. SOLUTION: This cleaning device for wheel tread comprises a cylinder 1, a torque receiving rod 2, which is slidably inserted into the cylinder 1, a spring 18 for restoring the rod 2, which is interposed between the cylinder 1 and the torque receiving rod 2, an abrasion piece receiver 4, which is detachably connected to the external end of the torque receiving rod 2, a abrasion piece 2, which is detachably mounted on the end section of the abrasion piece receiver 4, a vibration control rubber, which is interposed between the torque receiving rod 2 and the abrasion piece receiver 4 for keeping the abrasion piece 3 at a neutral position, a latch receiver 8, which is inserted into the outer peripheral groove of the cylinder 1 so as to be able to axially move, and a latch 7, which is provided in the cylinder 1 and selectively engaged with the latch receiver 8.
