PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement automation, to elongate the creep distance, and to improve the creep voltage by inserting a insulating component between primary and secondary coils. SOLUTION: A primary coil and interlayer taping is provided on a stepped bobbin (an inserted insulating component 2 may be attached instead of forming a step), and the inserted insulating component 2 substituting for a barrier tape 7 is thereafter attached to the bobbin to thereby secure a creep distance. Then, a secondary winding is provided. To prevent the component 2 from coming off after inserted, the component 2 has an opening thereof faced inward, the distal end of the opening thereof faced inward, or is projected at two opposed sides thereof, has riser tabs on the two opposed sides thereof, and is supported to be elastic enough to endure insertion. As a result of this construction, by using the component 2 in place of the tape 7, automated operation can be implemented easily, and thus a transformer having a long creep distance and an improved creep voltage can be provided.
