PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair dye having a homogeneous hair-dyeing property and an excellent fastness by including anα-hydroxy acid or aβ-hydroxy acid. SOLUTION: This hair dye is obtained by including one or more kinds ofα-hydroxy acids (for example, glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid or the like is cited. Particularly, glycolic acid is preferable.) orβ-hydroxy acids (e.g.β-lactic acid and the like). In addition, a protein and/or its chemically modified product is preferably included. Preferable content is 0.01-10 wt.%, more preferably 0.1-5 wt.%. Further, permanent hair dyes containing oxidation dyes or the like are particularly preferable as hair dyes.
