PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control signals from fat by obtaining MR image data by an imaging pulse sequence after applying beforehand a chemical shift selecting type pulse sequence using a frequency selective RF saturated pulse having an optimum flip angle. SOLUTION: The NMR signal caught by an RF coil 152 is digitized by a transmitter/receiver module 150 and transmitted to a memory module 160, and the data are subjected to Fourier transformation into an array of image data by an array processor 161. The array of the image data is memorized in a disk memory 111 of a computer system 107 through a serial tank 115. Here, an optimum flip angle about the frequency selective RF saturated pulse is calculated partially based on the number of interleaved slices to be obtained, the frequency selective RF saturated pulse is applied prior to the image pulse sequence, and the image data are obtained by the magnetic resonance imaging system.
