PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc phosphate chemical conversion treating soln. uniformly forming an extremely fine chemical conversion film on the surface of a metallic material and imparting higher adhesion for a coating film and corrosion resistance to a film for a coating substrate of a metallic material and more excellent lubricity to a film for plastic working. SOLUTION: This zinc phosphate chemical conversion treating soln. is the one essentially contg. zinc ions and phosphoric ions and also contg. tin ions. Suitably, the concn. of the tin ions is >=10 ppm. Moreover, as to the chemical conversion treating method, the zinc phosphate chemical conversion treating soln. is brought into contact with the surface of a metallic material, and a zinc phosphate chemical conversion film is formed on the surface of the metallic material.
