PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interchangeable lens excellent in handleability for a user so that the interchangeable lens can easily be housed even when it is detached from a camera main body in the interchangeable lens incorporated with an exclusive power source in the interchangeable lens and provide with a driving mechanism. SOLUTION: This interchangeable lens 1 incorporated with the power source 13 and attachable to and detachable from the camera main body 100 is provided with a setting means (41 to 44) by which the interchangeable lens 1 can be set in a state suitable for storing, a detecting means that detects whether the interchangeable lens 1 is detached from the camera body 100 or not (45: body load detection SW), and a control means (14: lens CPU) that controls the setting of a state suitable for storing when the interchangeable lens 1 is in a detached state from the camera body 100 when the interchangeable lens 1 is detected to be attached from the camera main body 100 by this detecting means.
