PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a common space such as a common corridor connecting an elevator with a residential space, and to relatively enlarge the residential space. SOLUTION: This building permits the car of an elevator 3 to be freely rotated, and also permits floor doors 2a through 2c to be provided for the four outer wall surfaces of an elevator passage 2, so that the respective floor doors 2a through 2c are made to be doors exclusive to respective residential spaces A through C. The elevator 3 is moved to respective floors, and its elevator car 5 is rotated so as to let one of elevator doors 5a and 5b coincide with the floor doors 2a through 2c of the corresponding residential spaces A through C, and both the doors can be opened when coincided.
