PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a child, etc., to easily study how to read a timepiece by forming the timepiece in such a manner that the hour hand is rotated by dial manipulation and that the hour figure of an hour display window does not change while the minute figure of a minute display window changes. SOLUTION: An hour display gear 19 is pivotally fitted to one side of a minute display disk 9 fixed to an hour hand stem 5 of the timepiece for a teaching material constituted by building a gear mechanism 13 for cooperatively rotating the minute hand 6 and the hour hand 10 at a rotating ratio of 12:1 into a case 1 by the manipulation of the dial 11 producing to the outside of the case 1. When the minute display disk 7 makes one turn, the hour display gear 19 is sent by two teeth by a pair of gears 23 disposed at the minute display disk 7 and tooth grooves 24 therebetween so that the fresh hour figure is displayed in the hour display window 30.
