PURPOSE:To enable a finishing process for continuous zipper chains and a sewing process for merchandising the same to be smoothly carried out by welding the continuous zipper chains together at space portions. CONSTITUTION:This method for joining together continuous zipper chains 1 each made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin and having space portions 4 at predetermined intervals among them includes cutting the continuous zipper chains 1 apart at the space portions 4, butting the cut apart zipper chains 1 to one another, and welding the chains together mainly at an engaging-element removing portion 8 at each cut portion 7 by ultrasonic or high-frequency machining. If any of the zipper chain 1 has a defective portion 6 such as stain of flaw, the zipper chains 1 are cut apart at those space portion 4 in front of and behind that zipper chain, and the zipper chain 1 with the defective part 6 is removed and then the cut portion 7 are butted and welded together, for finishing the continuous zipper chains 1 into good-quality ones while enabling very smooth finishing and sewing processes and preventing deterioration of the product value. |
