PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an in-circuit emulator capable of keeping a processing speed also at the time of using a sub clock. SOLUTION: An emulation clock circuit 1 generates its own emulation clock signal 16. A clock switching circuit 2 selects and outputs one of a target clock signal 21 outputted from a target clock circuit 7 and the signal 16. A processor 3 controls the selection of the circuit 2 based on the monitor data signal 18 of a monitor program 4 monitoring emulation. Only irreducibly minimum instruction steps in the program 4 operate with the signal 21 and the others can be operated by using a high emulation clock signal 16. Thus, the response time of the program 4 can be reduced and the downloading time of the program can be reduced as well. |
