PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article position detector for detecting a position of an article movable along a prescribed passage, capable of making easily and accurately the movable body on a moving passage of a long distance approach to a prescribed position. SOLUTION: In this detector, at least one sensor 13 actuated by passing- through of a movable body 2 is arranged in a position separated from a midpoint of a sound signal conductor 1 by a prescribed distance, and is connected to an evaluation unit 11. The evaluation unit 11 compensates an error in a calibration point along a moving passage according to an error polynomial by which a factor is derived from the error, and the each error position assigned in a specified distance of the moving passage is generated by evaluating a pulse transmitted by a sensor 13 at the time when the movable body 2 passes. |
