PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve variations of a current breaking pressure by preventing poor welding short in a welding degree caused by oscillation of a breaking vent plate together with a cleaving vent plate in ultrasonic welding. SOLUTION: In this sealed battery, a cleaving vent plate 15 is formed with a connection protrusion 20 projecting downward, while a breaking vent plate 13 is formed with a thin cleavage wall 19. The connection protrusion 20 is welded to an upper face of the cleavage wall 19. When the welding is performed, the connection protrusion 20 is pressed and oscillated by a horn 31 with the cleavage wall 19 received and held by an anvil 30. A receiving part 32 of the anvil 30 is allowed to bite into a holding recess 21 formed in a lower face of the cleavage wall 19 for the purpose of preventing fluctuation of the cleavage wall 19 (the breaking vent plate 13) together with the connection protrusion 20.
