PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detecting device usable for a suppressing device of vibrations existing in the interior of an automobile, capable of rapidly responding to changing noise emission, and capable of detecting only noise from a noise source causing an actual disturbance. SOLUTION: This failure detecting device 254 for detecting a failure in an automobile 214 includes a memory device 238 for storing a plurality of predetermined vibration models SM, a driving condition unit for detecting driving conditions BZ of the automobile 214, a vibration sensor 256 for detecting vibrations in the interior of the automobile, and a comparator device for comparing a vibration model of vibrations detected in the interior 212 with a vibration model SM corresponding to the detected driving conditions BZ of the automobile 214 and stored in the memory device 238 and transmitting a signal expressing a difference between the two vibration models. |
