PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for recording a video voice signal capable of fast transferring DMA(direct memory access) transfer, etc., while holding the compatibility of a file. SOLUTION: This recording method digitizes a video signal or a voice signal or both of them to record them as a file on a recording medium. In this case, a trim chunk 13 for adjusting a length is inserted to the header part 11 of a stored file format to properly select the length of this trim chunk 13 to match the length of the part 11 with the integral multiple of a sector length being the minimum writing size of the recording medium to record it.
