PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an axial slippage caused by lateral stress between a socket for an discharge lamp and a socket receiving part at the installation or removal of the socket such as replacement work for the lamp and facilitate work and maintenance. SOLUTION: In this vehicle light apparatus with a discharge lamp as a light source, an earth plate 5 has elasticity in the direction of fitting of a socket 4 for the discharge lamp 2, and a plate receiving part 6b mounted to a metallic case 6 is arranged at surface, transverse to fitting direction of the socket 4, facing a reflecting mirror 3. Accordingly, at the installation and removal of the socket 4 such as replacement work for the discharge lamp 2, a replacement work may be facilitated by preventing the occurrence of axis displacement, between a socket receiving part and the socket 4, caused by lateral stress to the socket 4.
